What is a Favicon?

A favicon (short for "favorites icon" and also known as a page icon), is an icon associated with a particular website or webpage that is displayed in the browser address bar next to a site's URL

I use: 

1. CC free images through Google image search - Labelled noncomercial reuse
2. Google App to resize = http://www.simpleimageresizer.com/ 36x36 or 16x16
3. favicon generator = http://www.favicon.cc/
4. Blogger = in layout go to the favicon box (top left) and insert your download file
5. If it doesn't show straight away type in your blog address followed by /favicon.ico in a new tab and the icon will load, then go back to refresh your blog and it will show.
6. On a Google Site, on your manage page settings, go to attachments and upload the favicon download file and it will automatically load.
